What animals do you treat?
Lone Star Equine Sports Medicine treats equine and large animals only — horses, mules, donkeys, and other large animals. For dogs, cats, and small animals, our sister clinic Woodforest Animal Hospital is located at the same address.
Do you see emergency cases?
Yes. For urgent equine emergencies, please call us directly at (936) 220-1352 so we can prepare for your arrival. After-hours emergencies should be directed to the nearest 24-hour equine referral hospital.
Do you do farm calls / ambulatory visits?
Dr. Alvarez and our team provide ambulatory services throughout the greater Houston area, including Conroe, The Woodlands, Katy, Huntsville, and surrounding counties. Contact us to arrange a farm call.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring your horse's current Coggins test, vaccination records, and any prior medical history. Completing the new client registration in advance helps us serve you faster.
Where can I order medications and prescriptions?
Our online pharmacy is available at lonestarvet.ourvet.com. If you need a prescription refill, contact our office first.
